KickApps Gets Some Whuffie
We hosted a Happy Hour at KickApps HQ in NYC last night for clients, partners and employees. A fun and interesting night was had by all. The conversations and people made me realize something that I probably don’t think about enough, we have some GREAT clients and friends that are part of the KickApps eco-system.
We read everyday about how social media is changing business, well, last night we had a collective of people that are on the ground, disrupting and innovating around digital media, marketing and customer relationships. Sometimes it can be a grind but they share a common vision for a digital world that’s social, interactive and highly distributed.
One of the highlights of the evening was to have Tara Hunt, author, online community marketer, blogger, matriarch of Whuffie, join us to spread Whuffie all over KickApps. Tara spent some time talking about how businesses and marketers can be successful on the Social Web and shared some inspiring examples and best practices for brands to build credibility, trust and a loyal following in the world of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and of course, your own web experiences.
If you’re tasked with transforming your company as many of our clients are, The Whuffie Factor is a very helpful read. UPDATE: We sold a bunch of books at the Happy Hour, which Tara kindly signed. The proceeds of the sales are off to the Special Olympics. A big thank you to those that bought a book. [KickApps powers the Fan Community, the official online community for the Special Olympics.]
Here are some photos from last night’s festivities.
