System-Generated Emails

Overview
The KIT Cloud Social platform sends email notifications to administrators and members when certain events occur within your site. Some of the contents of these notifications can be modified by editing your site’s Language settings, as described here: Language Editor and here: How to Edit Your Community Emails.
Included in this document is a list of the email notifications that get sent from the KIT Cloud Social platform, including the “trigger events” which cause the notifications and the recipients of the notifications.
- The content of each email notification can be edited via the Language editor in Affiliate Center.
- KIT Cloud Social always sends out individual emails, even when an email is sent to multiple recipients(invites, notifications of uploads, etc.), so that recipients cannot see each others' email addresses.
- Email HTML is sometimes rendered strangely by different mail readers, ensure that our templates work on the popular ones:
- Outlook (2003 and 2007)
- Gmail
- Mac Mail
- AOL mail (client and webmail)
- Hotmail
- Yahoo mail
- Text-only mail readers
Email Formatting
- All emails are sent to - and only mention - members' *usernames,* not their first or last names.
- Throughout these email templates there are mentions of "member name," "sender name," etc. In all of those cases, the username is used.
- Possible values for \{mediaType\} are:
- video
- photo
- audio track
- blog post
- set
- external media
- Within the body of the emails, the \{affiliateEmail\} string is:
- The affiliate help email address, if one is available
- If there's no help email address, use the affiliate webmaster's primary email address
From and Reply-to Addresses
- All emails are sent from *noreply@kickapps.com*
- The From name is *The \{siteName\} Team*
- The "Reply-to" address is set to the *affiliate's help email address* so if a member replies to a system-generated email it will be sent to the help address.
- If the affiliate has not set a help email address, the reply-to instead goes to the affiliate account email address.
- Example header code:

Member Emails
Member-to-member message
Trigger Event. Member sends another community member a personal message.
Subject:{message subject as entered in the form} from {siteName}
If there is a video attached to the message, the subject reads:
Video message: {message subject as entered in the form} from {siteName}
Body:{Username} from {siteName} sent you this message:
{message text as entered in the form}
{if it's a video message and the recipient is a member:} To view the video attached to this message, click this link: {link to the message view in the recipient's MKP inbox}

Affiliate alert message
Trigger Event: Webmaster broadcasts a message to the community or a selective group.\

If there is an audio track attached to this message, make the subject read: Audio message: {message subject as entered in the form}

Processing will fail for a video or audio file if it exceeds the maximum file size (100 megabytes), or if it's not in a format that we support (audio files must be in .mp3 format; videos must be in one of the following formats: .flv, .wmv, .asf, .avi, .mov, .3gp, .mpg, .mpeg, or .mp4). Please make sure that {contributorName} is aware of these conditions, and encourage he or she to try again. We apologize for the inconvenience. If the problem persists, submit a support ticket from the Support tab on KIT Cloud Social ([1]). The more detail that you are able to give us, the better we will be able to help you.
