Alex Blum, CEO, KickApps: It's time to Reinvent Your Website
Consumer expectations of websites have changed dramatically over recent years. In order to compel audiences and customers to return and engage with content and brands, publishers and marketers must create web experiences that are social, interactive, distributed and data-informed. Alex's presentation will discuss a new way of thinking about your website and highlight best practices of publishers and brands that are Reinventing their Websites.
Jeramie McPeek, VP, Interactive Services, Phoenix Suns: Engaging with Fans Using an Online Community
Jeramie McPeek is one of the true innovators in using social media to engage with fans. Under his leadership, the Phoenix Suns launched PlanetOrange.net, the EMMY award winning official online community for Suns fans. Jeramie will talk about why the Suns created PlanetOrange.net and will share best practices about launching and running an online fan community for a professional sports team. He’ll share stories about how the Suns' community managers encourage fans to participate, including some funny ones, and will talk about how the Suns are monetizing PlanetOrange.net.
Alan Wolk, Creative Strategist, Toad Stool Consulting: Your Brand Is Not My Friend
Creative Strategist Alan Wolk explains why your brand is not my friend. The session explores how and why brands should use social media, outlining best practices and presenting case studies for both entertainment brands and those who lack the built-in audience of a “Prom King Brand” like Nike, HBO or the latest Harry Potter movie.
Wolk will review the origins of social media and the disruption caused by “The Real Digital Revolution”-- the ability of consumers to fact check ads and learn about products via Google. He’ll explain why not all brands are created equal in social media and review concrete ways that even low interest properties can gain fans and interact with consumers. We’ll look at what brands are doing it right, which ones are doing it wrong, and what it takes to be successful in the space. The session closes with a look at what the marketing department of tomorrow might look like and the skills you’ll need to remain competitive.
Details on the other presentations will be added soon.
