What’s Under the Hood

The KickApps platform runs on a proprietary Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE)-compliant enterprise architecture (the industry standard for implementing enterprise-class service-oriented architecture (SOA) and next-generation web applications) that leverages Hibernate and the Spring Framework. All Widgets are platform neutral, using Flash or HTML-based code snippets that are configured and populated via XML and RSS feeds.

Page Experiences contain AJAX-powered features and are customizable via CSS and open code blocks at the top and bottom of every page. We also offer direct access to our platform via open APIs for ultimate flexibility and control over the user experience.

Hosting and Content Delivery Partners

KickApps servers are hosted at Rackspace, the leading Tier 1 managed hosting service provider. Rich media and video is delivered via Akamai, a leading Content Delivery Network (CDN).
