KickApps 2.0 Delivers Industry’s Most Comprehensive Social Media Platform NEW YORK (March 27, 2007) — KickApps Corporation today announced the launch of KickApps Version 2.0 (KickApps 2.0), a hosted platform designed to quickly and easily add social media experiences to any Web site. Unlike other platforms, KickApps provides sites of all sizes with a full range of building blocks that include user-generated content, social networking, video players, Web cam applications, Widget-building, media/member management and reporting. KickApps’ modular approach to social media is unique to the industry and effectively allows user-generated content to be deployed alongside premium content in flexible, creative ways. Additionally, the KickApps Widget engine enables viral syndication of all content, driving incremental traffic back to the host site. KickApps 2.0 also enhances the platform's administrative capabilities. Media and member management allows Web sites to invite user participation without putting their brands and advertisers at risk. Reporting features allow sites to better serve their users and advertisers. KickApps 2.0 is the only social media platform offering three levels of customization. Consumers can use KickApps’ preconfigured set of building blocks to quickly create social media-enhanced Web sites. Developers can create uniquely branded solutions through the platform’s extensive component library and reach even higher levels of customization through KickApps’ standard APIs. “With this latest release of our platform, we continue to broaden an already robust set of building blocks necessary to transform existing destinations into live community-oriented open portals,” said Alex Blum, CEO of KickApps. “Very quickly these building blocks will be thought of as core elements for all Web sites rather than optional add-ons.” Specific enhancements to KickApps 2.0 include:
“KickApps is different than other social media platforms because we are able to tailor it to our specific social media needs,” said Marc Lowitz, President, AFL (Arena Football League) Network. “We are able to bring our fans into a unique community where they can participate with us, other fans and communities across the Web. This expands our reach and the fan experience beyond a static Web site, while still maintaining control over our brand and messages.” Simon Brydon, CEO of Cycling.tv, added, “With KickApps new solution we can build on our global community of cycling enthusiasts and offer users more functionality during races and at all other times. This enhances their online experience, promotes cycling around the world, and drives new users to our site.” National Lampoon’s CEO Daniel Laikin commented, “Our success relies on creating a participatory environment around our own content and content from across our community. KickApps' solution allows us to create this type of experience quickly and easily and to tailor it to the needs and interests of our audiences.”
