Panel to Discuss How Content Owners can Manage Video Distribution and Mash-Ups

NEW YORK, September 20, 2007—KickApps, the leading on demand social media platform, today announced that CEO Alex Blum will be speaking at the upcoming Online Media, Marketing and Advertising (OMMA) Conference and Expo, September 24 – 25, 2007 at the Hilton Hotel in New York.  Mr. Blum will participate in a panel on September 25th from Noon - 12:45 p.m. entitled “Access and Activism: Harnessing Video Distribution and the Clip/Mash-Up Revolution.” The session will discuss the implications for content owners and producers as digital distribution of top-tier video content expands and new services and tools evolve to allow viewers capture, clip and mash content.

Moderated by Dan Rayburn, EVP, StreamingMedia.com, the panel features Mr. Blum; Keith McAllister, CEO, Mochila; and Dan Pelson, SVP Global Consumer Marketing, Warner Music Group to share ideas on how content owners can adapt to the web 2.0 world of viewer control. Panel members will also cover how "fluid" the content economy has become and what challenges this could pose for ad-based monetization.

KickApps will also be exhibiting in Booth #226, providing interactive product demos and discussing how companies can use social media applications to grow and sustain engagement with their audiences to foster deeper relationships and create new revenue opportunities through advertising and other channels. Using examples from customers such as HBO, Scripps Networks, BET Networks, VIBE Magazine, Proctor & Gamble and Kraft Foods, KickApps will demonstrate how to best leverage the platform's four social media building blocks: social networking; user-generated content; programmable video players for editorial content; and content syndication using Widgets. KickApps will also disprove the “Build it and they will Come” approach to social media by sharing some community-building best practices that are necessary to reap the full benefits of social media.
