KickApps Announces Series A Financing

$6 Million Capital Funding From Spark Capital and Prism Venture Partners

(NEW YORK) – June 22, 2006– KickApps Corporation (www.kickapps.com) announced today the completion of its Series A round of funding, raising $6 million from Spark Capital and Prism Venture Partners. The new venture promises a disruptive new approach to the current trends in user-generated video and social networking.

The KickApps hosted application service is designed for content websites of any size in diverse verticals including entertainment, lifestyle, sports, community, health, and education. The Beta release of the KickApps platform will be available in July by visiting KickApps.com.

KickApps is led by technology veteran Eric Alterman, a founder of numerous successful ventures including, MeshNetworks (acquired by Motorola), Skycross, MILCOM, Triton Network Systems, and Quadfore Corporation. His team includes seasoned engineering and marketing talent from companies including Sun Microsystems, Fireclick, Meetup, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Disney, ABC, MTV and Vonage.

Spark Capital, based in Boston, was founded by several former industry executives whose main focus is on the conflux of media, entertainment, and technology. Founder and General Partner Santo Politi joins the KickApps board of directors. Prism Venture Partners, based in Westwood, MA, is a venture capital firm built by experienced technology entrepreneurs. Since 1996 Prism has raised five venture funds totaling $1.25 billion. Woody Benson, General Partner, joins the KickApps board of directors.
